With St Patrick’s day just around the corner, green cocktails are a hot topic. These are a few that I will be trying this year:
The Green Iguana
15 ml tequila
30 ml melon liqueur
60 ml sweet and sour
Shake over ice, strain into rimmed martini glass.
Gimlet Cocktail
4 parts gin
3 parts lime cordial
1 lime wedge
Fill rocks glass with ice, add all ingredients, stir.
Green Spree
2 parts absolut vodka
2 parts apple juice
1 part lemon juice
1 part simple syrup
1 slice kiwi
Shake over ice, pour into chilled cocktail glass, garnish with kiwi.
Vulcano Cocktail
1 part green chartreuse
1 dash blue curacao
1 part cherry brandy
1 dash triple sec
champagne
Add blue curacao, cherry brandy, green chartreuse and triple sec into chilled champagne glass. Top with champagne.
The Real Mojito
10 fresh mint leaves
1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
2 tbsp white sugar
1 cup ice
1 1/2 oz white rum
1/2 cup club soda
Muddle mint with one lime wedge in sturdy cocktail glass. Add 2 more lime wedges and sugar. Fill glass with ice, add rum and top with soda. garnish with last lime wedge.
Kiwi Kiss
1 kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced
3/4 oz lemongrass-ginger syrup
1/2 oz soju
6 oz dry sparkling sake
lemon grass spear
1″ cube of kiwi for garnish
Muddle kiwi, lemongrass-ginger syrup & soju. Fill glass 3/4 full of ice. Top with sparkling sake. Thread kiwi cube onto lemon grass spear (use metal skewer to poke hole.)
Cucumber Mint Gimlet
4 1/2 cups cucumber gin
2 1/4 cups fresh lime juice
1 cup plus 2 tbsp mint simple syrup
cucumber peels
fresh mint sprigs
